For training contracts
DWF look for a 2.1 Degree and an AAB or higher at A Level (or equivalent).
They welcome applications from penultimate year law students, all final year students (law & non law) and all graduates (from any degree discipline). They only take on a small number of Trainee Solicitors each year. It’s a deliberate policy designed to make sure that each Trainee gets plenty of hands-on experience.
This means you are able to accept appropriate responsibility for legal matters at an early stage, instead of spending a Traineeship dealing only with routine support tasks.
For Paralegal roles
DWF welcome applications from both experienced fee earners and graduates.
Entry requirements vary depending on the practice area and the day-to-day responsibilities of the position. In some cases they simply require A Level finishers or graduates from any degree discipline looking to take their first steps towards paralegal work, but for some roles candidates will need to have completed the LPC.
For Apprentice Roles
To be considered for the role of Apprentice, you must be able to demonstrate some basic IT and keyboard skills with knowledge of Word, Excel and database programs coupled with good administration and organisational skills. With proven team working skills and excellent communication skills, you must have the ability to learn on the job and participate in learning and development at every opportunity.

The selection process for a training contracts consists of first round interviews, an assessment centre and the opportunity to meet their Practice Group Partners.
