In a bizarre incident that has stunned social media users, TikToker pizza was allegedly stolen by a DoorDash driver during a delivery. The incident, which happened to the well-known J Mist on the networks and whose video has gone viral (it has over 1 million views), has raised concerns about the safety of food deliveries.
The TikToker, known for sharing funny and food-related content in addition to the famous “POV” (Point Of View) videos and other funny content, had ordered a pizza through the popular food delivery app DoorDash. J Mist asserted that she is “very considerate” of those who bring her food, so she leaves the delivery instructions very clear and detailed and expresses them in the appropriate box within the app.
After placing the order, J Mist checked her phone to see where the delivery person was, and it showed that she was on her way, which reassured the TikToker. She also made it clear in the instructions that “you can call me if you need to,” and asked the Dasher to please deliver the food in her hands.
However, J Mist never received her order, even though it appeared on the delivery platform that it had been delivered. What she did receive was a picture of the pizza box on her doorstep, not of her apartment, but of the building! While telling the story, the influencer asked her a sarcastic question in her video:
“Why would you leave my freshly baked box of pizza in the lobby for anyone to look at, grab, and take?”
Jokingly, J Mist confessed that she ran out to the lobby “like Usain Bolt” looking for her pizza but was in for a surprise: there was no pizza! At the end of the video, the influencer texted the Dasher, in case she saw her video on TikTok, and said on camera that she had a tip to give her, plus $100 off TEMU and an additional 30% off coupon, but assumed “she didn’t want it.”
The video quickly gained followers, expressing outrage and disbelief. Many questioned the reliability of food delivery services, while others sympathized with TikToker’s unfortunate experience.
In response to the incident, DoorDash contacted TikToker to apologize and address his concerns. The delivery company gave him credits as a reward for what happened. Still, it was too late, and J Mist ended up eating barbecue chips.
