One of the ways to link Chime to Venmo is by linking your Chime debit card to your P2P account. You can do this by following these steps:
Step one: Venmo application menu
Go to your Venmo app and enter the menu at the top right of the phone symbolized by these three dashes “☰.” If you have the new version of P2P, you will press the “single person” icon. In the list of options, press the “Settings” option and select “Payment method.“
Step two: Link the card to the application
When you enter the “payment methods” settings, select “add bank or card.” The platform allows you to select your payment method; in this case, we will choose “card.”
Complete the form with your Chime card information such as expiration date, security code, zip code, etc. You can also link to the temporary Chime card, which you can get in “Settings” – “Yes, I applied for a Chime card and have not received it yet”- an electronic card that works for a limited time, as the name suggests.
In this case, register the data of the temporary Chime card, and verify the information. Click on “Add”, and you have completed the transaction.
How to link Chime with Venmo? Using the Chime bank account
The second way to link both applications is through your current Chime bank account. The steps to follow to implement this alternative are as follows:
Step One: Login to the Venmo menu
Log into your Venmo app and go to the menu at the top right of the phone symbolized by these three dashes “☰.” If you have the new version of P2P, you will press the “single person” icon. Click on the “Settings” option in the list of options and select “Payment method.”
Step one: Link the account to Venmo
When you enter the “payment methods” settings, select “add bank or card.” The platform allows you to select your payment method; in this case, we will choose “Bank.”
The application is going to prompt you to choose your preferred verification method. You can select one of these two:
- Instant verification (Online process with Plaid)
- Manual verification (It takes up to three business days to authenticate with Venmo)
Choose the bank by typing its name in the search bar. The bank account you associate will be either Bancorp Bank or Strides Bank. You can identify which one is on the back of your Chime debit card.
How do I transfer money from Chime to Venmo?
After linking your Chime bank account or debit card with Venmo, you can move all your funds from both sides. To make a transfer from Chime to Venmo, follow these steps:
- You go to the “☰” menu icon at the top right of the screen
- Click on “manage balance.” This option is only enabled when you request and receive a Chime debit card
- Click on “add money” (Move money to Venmo account)
- Enter and confirm the amount you wish to send
- Choose the bank account or card you wish to withdraw the money from
- Review all the information and tap on “add money”
How to transfer money from Venmo to Chime?
After you link your bank account or Chime card with Venmo, you can easily move money from Venmo to Chime. To do so, follow these instructions:
- Go to the “☰” menu icon at the top right of the screen
- Click on “manage balance.” This option is only enabled when you apply for and receive a Chime debit card
- Tap on the “Transfer funds” option (Move money to Venmo account)
- Enter and confirm the amount of money you would like to transfer
- Please choose whether you want to send it to the linked debit card or the Chime checking account
- Select the sending alternative:
- Instant: with a fee of 1% of the amount sent, receive the money within 30 minutes
- One to three days: it’s free, but it takes one to three days for the money to arrive. If you are transferring to a Chime debit card, you will only have the instant payment option
- Review all the details and click on “Transfer”
