When you want to purchase PlayStation Store products, you need to connect your credit card to the console; through the settings menu, you can modify your information and add or remove credit cards.
Once you associate your credit card, all charges will be made. Therefore, the day may come when you want to stop paying for games and prefer to remove the affiliation. The process can be done through your PlayStation Store account.
Remove PSN credit card
With your PS4, you can affiliate a credit card to carry out purchases on the PlayStation Store. With the PlayStation Controller, select the “Settings” option on your PS4; now select “Account Management” and “Account Information”.
In the next menu, select “Wallet” and “Payment Methods,” here, you have to add your PS4 password to confirm that you are the owner. Here the credit cards associated with the PlayStation appear.
There are three options; the first is to default the card if you have many added to make payments with that one, the second is to modify the card details in “Edit card information,” and the last is to delete it. A confirmation box will appear when you click delete, and you must select “Yes” to confirm the process.
Do I need to unsubscribe to remove the credit card?
It is not necessary, but it is the best solution to delete the payment methods you have registered; the option will not delete your active subscription; it will simply avoid future charges and delete the methods used to pay for the products in the store.
Now, suppose you want to cancel the subscription. In that case, it is necessary to access the PSN settings and look for “Account Management”, now “Deactivate all” in the next tab, and select “Cancel automatic funding”.
If you have a PS5, the removal process is different
The most common payment method on the PS5 is by credit card, but to remove the associated cards, you need to log in through the PlayStation Store website. On the main page of your account, you have to select the “Payment Management” option.
Here the payment methods used appear, and the associated credit card will be visible; now, you only have to select it and press “Delete” to confirm the procedure, which will already eliminate. It is important to note that this does not mean it will also delete the products purchased.
Only the associated automatic payments will stop, and you must add a new credit card if you want to purchase any new product from the PlayStation Store.
Why can’t you add a new card to the PS5?

Server problems
The PSN servers may present problems or be under maintenance, which sometimes inconveniences the operation of the platform options.
