An adequate option to save money when buying clothes is to visit department stores. In addition to offering many discounts, they also offer various choices. Belk is one of the most popular department stores today.
However, some of these stores tend to be very picky with their return and refund policies, so today, we’ve come to tell you about belk.com.
What are belk.com’s return and refund policies?
You must meet the requirements to successfully request a return or refund for a purchase made through belk.com. These vary depending on whether you will return it in-store or through the Belk Fulfillment Center (BFC).
Returning items through Belk stores
First, be sure to find the Belk location closest to your location. You can find it through the “Store Locator.” To access it, go to the official Belk website. Once logged in, you will find the option at the top of the page.
Now that you have found the store, you can proceed with the return process. Go to the Customer Service section of the store, along with the shipping invoice or receipt for your merchandise.
You must make the request within 180 days of making the purchase. In this way, you will be able to receive the total amount of your purchase through the payment method you used.
However, we know we do not always have the invoices at hand, and we may have lost or thrown them away. If this is your case, don’t worry, Belk is not demanding in this aspect with its customers and allows refunds.
But keep in mind that you will not get a refund of the full amount of your purchase, you only have 30 days to request it, and you will also get it in the form of a Belk gift card or as an amount credited to your Belk account.
Returning items through Belk Fulfillment Center (BFC)
For this option, you must also do so within 180 days of your purchase, and you will receive the full amount of your purchase in the payment method you chose.
You will have to fill out a form where you will include the item you wish to return and the reason why you are returning it. You can get it through the “Order Summary” on your invoice.
The box with your returned items should include this form, preferably on the outside carton, where it is easy to see. At the bottom, you will get the return label with the barcode.
You must ensure that your shipment is properly packed with its original materials. Otherwise, in the event of any problems with the shipment or damage due to improper packaging, Belk will not accept the items and, therefore, will not approve the refund.

Do I have to cover shipping costs in case I can’t make it to one of Belk’s stores?
This will depend on the condition in which you received your merchandise. If your order was affected by poor packaging and arrived to you in poor condition or was shipped to the wrong address, Belk will reimburse all costs associated with shipping.
If this is not the case, you will be solely responsible for covering these costs.
Do these policies apply to all Belk merchandise?
While Belk approves the return or refund of most items, not all items are subject to the same conditions. In the case of fine jewelry, you must request it within 90 days of your purchase.
Also, in these cases, you will want to have your receipt handy because they are more demanding. If you have lost it, you may ask your local sales associate for a receipt search to get it for you.
There is also an exception for swimwear and formal merchandise. For the request to be approved, these must include the purchase receipt, an email confirming the order, and a packing slip.
In addition, they must be in perfect condition, and the request must be made within 45 days of purchase.
Can I return any item in-store and by mail?
The answer is no. Some products cannot be returned in-store, just as there are items that cannot be returned by mail, regardless of how they were purchased.
In the case of in-store returns, you cannot return furniture, mattresses, rugs, or mirrors. On the other hand, you cannot return furniture through the mail either.
How long does it take for a refund to be credited to the customer’s account for credit card purchases? If you paid for your purchase with a credit card and requested a refund, you should receive the amount within 15 business days. These days are counted from the time Belk received the merchandise.
How can I track the status of my return process?
Belk wants its customers to be happy, so it provides them with options to know about the status of their return. You can choose to contact Customer Service either by phone or by email.
For phone calls, dial 1 – 866 – 235 – 5443. For email, you can email firstname.lastname@example.org. Requests via mail are received within one business day. However, they must verify your requirements and usually respond within 3 to 5 business days.
