More than one food delivery lover must have noticed that not all home delivery companies or restaurants accept cash as a payment method.
So, when you only have the cash to pay, it is important to know several apps that take cash payments.
Why don’t all home delivery apps accept cash?
While it used to be quite common for these types of businesses to receive cash payments, it seems less popular recently. Of course, they have several compelling reasons not to accept cash payments.
Problems with drivers
It is often the drivers who dislike the idea of accepting cash payments. First, they are responsible for receiving the full amount and delivering this money to the restaurant.
Most of the time, drivers prefer not to carry cash because of the high safety risk. No one thinks having large amounts of money is a healthy idea.
In the past, many food delivery companies ran a system where the delivery drivers would take the cash and deliver it directly to the restaurant before taking another order.
This delayed the delivery time so much that it was not considered efficient.
Restaurant refusal
The number of restaurants where that do not accept cash payments is overwhelming. And, when the restaurant does not take them, there is usually not much that the pick-up and delivery company can do about it.
When the restaurant refuses to take cash, the delivery company is left to either comply or not work with the restaurant at all.
Occasionally, certain agreements may be reached where cash payments are deducted from other services, and the delivery company keeps the cash. But, this is not a common trait.
Uncertain orders
One of the most important reasons is the uncertainty of the final payment. When the person offers to pay the delivery person in cash, no one knows for certain if the payment will come around. The only way to confirm the transaction is when the delivery person has received the payment.
Even with the order ready and soon to be delivered, the customer could refuse to pay or cancel the order at the last minute. The order would be lost, with no regrets from the customer.

Aspects to consider before placing your food order
After knowing all the companies where you can order and pay in cash, you may be interested in learning several factors before placing your order.
In most companies, employees may refuse to make your delivery
As we mentioned at the beginning of this text, cash delivery can be problematic. Most companies allow employees or delivery drivers to reject an order.
This does not mean that your order will not be fulfilled, but you will have to wait until you get a delivery person willing to make your delivery. Although it may be immediate, it can sometimes take time.
You must have the money in the most accurate amounts possible
To avoid inconveniences when receiving your order, try to have the cash in exact amounts, or at least close to the price to be paid. If you are going to pay, for example, $17, canceling with a $100 bill may not be the best option.
Delivery drivers don’t always carry much cash to give back. And if they can’t charge you exact amounts, they may not deliver your order.
Also, when the application allows you to do so, you can note that the delivery person will have to carry a certain amount of cash because you don’t have the exact change.
They will not always take cash as payment
Most of the time, whether the apps accept cash payments depends on the payment conditions of the restaurant or store.
When the store or restaurant does not allow cash payments or does not receive them, even if the delivery company does so, they may not accept payments directed to that specific store or restaurant.
