Tax Technician, School & College leaver programme
PwCDescription
About PwC
Be part of something special. Join the organisation that’s been voted number one in The Times Top 100 Graduate Employers survey for the last eight years. You’ll enjoy exceptional business exposure, build wide-ranging skills and life-long relationships, and gain valuable professional qualifications.
The programme
Have you decided against university or feel ready for a change in career? Then join us after your A-Levels/Scottish Highers or equivalent and start earning while you work towards a professional tax qualification.
Our introductory training will give you a good grounding in book-keeping, auditing or tax specific skills, while improving your general business awareness. And the learning doesn’t stop there. Formal study, on-the-job experience and coaching from colleagues mean you’ll continually pick up new skills and develop your business knowledge.
Tax
Our Tax Technician programme is spilt into different teams. You can specialise in:
- Corporate Tax
- Indirect Tax – focusing on Corporation Tax or VAT Compliance
- Human Resource Services consulting
What we do
You’ll start off learning how to prepare tax returns for people leaving or coming to the UK to work. You’ll be their point of contact, handling their queries by phone, email and sometimes face to face, advising on tax planning and getting exposure to all sorts of different clients.
You might also spend some time in our Relationship Team, building relationships with major clients and interacting with Senior Managers and PwC Partners. But whatever you’re doing, you’ll enjoy loads of variety and you’ll always be busy – particularly in the run up to tax deadlines.
What you need
This technically focused programme is open to you if you have:
At least a 240 UCAS tariff or equivalent
Equally important will be your ability to build relationships, to put yourself in others’ shoes and make a positive impact on our clients and us, while shaping your own future.
Exceptional exam results or exceptional potential?
But maybe you don’t have the grades we’re after because you’ve invested time in extra-curricular activities that show you’re exceptional. If so, you could still join us. ‘Inspired Talent’ is our entry route that recognises exam results aren’t the only way to prove you have potential.
