Bain and Company offers two separate summer internship programmes for regular undergraduates and business school students.

Internships for Undergraduates

Penultimate year students interested in pursuing a career in business consulting at Bain and Company are eligible for the Associate Consultant Intern (ACI) programme. ACIs are assigned to work on actual client projects during the training period and are assigned various tasks including, collecting and reporting relevant data, understand the working of various management tools used by the company, interact with clients, peers and seniors, etc. Each intern is assigned to a case team consisting of associate and full consultants, team leaders, managers and supervising partner.

Important: The London office does not offer the ACI programme.

Business School Students

MBA students who’ve completed their first year of study are eligible to apply for the Summer Associate (SA) programme. The programme is usually conducted during the months of July and August and details for the application and selection process are updated in the ‘Your Campus’ section of the website, sorted by school/college (http://www.joinbain.com/apply-to-bain/bain-on-your-campus/).

The programme begins with a formal global induction for all SAs across Bain’s offices, following which they are assigned to work with case teams at the local office where the internship application was made.

Summer Associates are allocated tasks similar to full-time consultants (the role they will take up if they join the company), including client management, providing solutions to business issues at hand, industry-specific application of management concepts and develop their professional networks.
