Delta Zeta was the first sorority that was found at the university, and today the sorority enriches the lives of alumnae and collegiate members across the United States and Canada. Delta Zeta sorority became a member of the National Panhellenic Conference in the year 1910.
The colours of the sorority are rose and green. Its official flower is Pink Killarney rose. The jewel of Delta Zeta is diamond, and its badge is Roman Lamp. The mascot of the sorority is a turtle. Delta Zeta’s official magazine is the LAMP, and it was first published in the year 1910.
Delta Zeta’s purpose is advanced through the National Council, the National Convention and the college and alumnae chapters. The National Council of Delta Zeta is responsible for the policy-making and governance of sorority.
Requirements to Join
Delta Zeta values learning, academic achievements and performance. Delta Zeta chapters should maintain a minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.7 or chapter GPA that exceeds the all-women’s average of their respective campus. The chapters have a collective GPA of 3.15 throughout the nation. Moreover, the Delta Zeta chapters can set higher academic standards by a majority of chapter vote.
The national standard of academic excellence must be met by potential members, individual members, chapter leaders, and chapters.
How to Join
To join Delta Zeta, a candidate needs to submit the membership introduction form. This form must be filled by a candidate willing to become a member herself or by a person who wants to introduce someone they know to a Delta Zeta collegiate chapter. The Membership Introduction Form can be filled online on the website of Delta Zeta.
Recruitment and legacy form is another way a potential member, a woman new to campus or alumnae, can recommend a woman to a chapter. They can either use the online recruitment and legacy introduction form or download the form in Word document and mail the completed recruitment form to the respective chapter.

The costs associated with Delta Zeta membership can be divided into two parts:

The cost to join vary from chapter to chapter.
The one-time new membership fees include the costs of badge, initiation fee and housing corps fee. The one-time membership fee is paid once during the new member period.
Semester dues are dues that cover the membership costs and costs of events during the year. The members can pay the dues every month or as a single payment at the commencement of the semester. Members who are unable to pay monthly dues can opt for a payment plan on a semester-to-semester basis. Under this plan, a member can pay part of dues monthly and pay the difference at the end of the semester.
Delta Zeta also awards one need-based scholarship to a member every year, and this scholarship covers the costs of semester dues.
The Delta Zeta Foundation awards scholarships based on merit and need. The scholarship enables college-age women, graduate students, and alumnae to continue their education. The application for scholarships can be submitted online, and the deadline for submission of the scholarship application is February 15. The sorority relies on the support and generosity of its alumnae, who contributes to its scholarships.
