For our summer schemes, you need to apply online between 2 October 2014 and 12 January 2015. The deadline for applications for training contracts is 31 July. Applications should be submitted through the online system.
Applicants for our vacation scheme will be invited to attend a half-day assessment to meet a mix of partners and associates and complete two 30-minute interviews. Either a partner and an associate or two associates will conduct the interviews. The first will focus on the application form and awareness of Latham & Watkins. The second will focus on commercial awareness. There’s a presentation about the firm given by a partner, an associate and a trainee, and then lunch with the trainees where you’ll be able to ask questions and find out what it’s really like to be a trainee at Latham & Watkins. If you attend a vacation scheme and decide that you wish to apply for a training contract with us, you will be asked to complete one further interview during the second week of the scheme.
Applicants for our training contracts who do not attend the vacation scheme are asked to attend a half-day assessment, to complete one 30 minute interview covering the application form and Latham & Watkins awareness, one 45 minute written task and finally a 45 minute interview to discuss the written task and to field queries involving current and commercial awareness topics.
