The Insight4GRC service line is growing fast and we are looking to recruit into the team so that we can build on our existing resources and therefore ensure our continued growth is not stifled.

We are looking to recruit at all levels, including in this particular case a trainee (apprenticeship). Our service line combines the supply and use of the RSM proprietary corporate governance, risk management and compliance software, known as Insight4GRC with the provision of advisory support to enable establishment and use of the software within organisations i.e. advising on set up, structuring the software to meet requirements, user training, on going support and dealing with issues as they arise.

But before you turn away thinking this is for “IT techies” - you only need to be comfortable with using software applications, this is not in any way an IT specialist role, neither does it involve programming, this is very much a client facing professional services role where personality, commercial sense, confidence and resilience are the key attributes for the role. In undertaking the role you will gain experiences and knowledge of a vast range of organisational governance, risk management and compliance arrangements, all of which will help you build your skills and abilities to become a valuable part of the Insight4GRC team and fulfil your professional services career potential.

Insight4GRC is RSM’s proprietary governance, risk and compliance (or control) software suite (www.insight4grc.com) used by approximately 200 organisations from across all sectors including PLCs, SMEs, Not for Profit i.e. housing, education, local authorities etc and Financial Services both in the UK and internationally.

The Insight4GRC team help interested organisations understand better how that can make use of the technology we have available to make more effective and efficient their Governance Risk Compliance (GRC) arrangements including supply of the software suite, design and configuration, implementation, training and on going support and advice.

About the job

You will be involved in managing projects that help bring ideas and initiatives to life, commerically developing the Insight4GRC suite for use in various ways to meet market and client needs, as well as product discusssions / demonstrations with organisations, implementation and training. You will learn about and gain experience of corporate governance, risk management, compliance and controls working on projects and this knowledge will be used when you participate in advisory projects that might be undertaken prior to the implementation of the Insight4GRC software or may run alongside concurrently.

You will no doubt recognise that the role requires a number of skills and experiences and is neither a pure risk advisory type role, neither is it purely software implementation or support, instead this role brings together and creates a hybrid – which we hope you agree now reflects modern business, the combination of technology and advisory support. That said we still believe that having people skills and resilience are key to your success in this role.

Given we are a global professional services firm we also recognise that you will wish to gain as much breadth of experience as possible therefore you will be offered support in obtaining the Accounting Technician qualification to aid that rounded development of you as an individual. We would, however, expect that your career path will follow more of an advisory nature as we have set out, which will not be pure audit, accounts and tax as might be expected by a firm of chartered accountants. Upon completion of the Accounting Technician qualification we would decide with you your next option from a qualification perspective, this could be for example continuation of your accountancy qualification, PRINCE 2, the Institute of Risk Management, Institute of Internal Audit etc.

To aid the above we will arrange for you to work with other service lines within the firm including risk assurance as well as audit, accounts and taxation, within your local region. This will help you in gaining wider exposure to services that RSM provide as well as help practically with your initial professional qualification.

Our ultimate goal is to develop you as an individual within a professional services environment such that you understand all aspects of the Insight4GRC service line, have a blended skill set and are capable of taking a future leading role in the growth of the business.

About the ideal candidate

This is not a standard office based desk job, we need someone who is prepared for sometimes extensive UK travel (and sometimes International), including staying away from home which may be required on some occasions (though we will as far as possible look to manage this with you so that it does not become in anyway over burdensome), is personally resilient and flexible as often there are multiple projects – with often only a small number of people involved, is very client / customer service focused, commercially aware and with a genuine interest in corporate governance, risk management, internal controls and compliance arrangements, is enthusiastic, innovative and a confident communicator, coupled with an interest in the use of technology to make organisations more effective in the future.

If you have GRC interest, like the idea of working in an advisory capacity, have a growing commercial instinct or ambitions, believe that you are suited to the professional services environment then this role could be for you.

We work in many sectors with all types of business, from large PLCs, to small owner managed businesses, as well as large not for profit organisations such as housing associations, colleges, though we also have clients that operate in the criminal justice system including police and prisons. This means a genuine interest and appreciation in business, organisational structure, processes and systems is important as this will help you find the best solution for clients.

A typical day might involve:

-        Demo’s of the Insight4GRC software to interested organisations, either on line or at a client site.

-        Discussing GRC arrangements with clients and interested organisations, and in some cases preparing a written report or presentation.

-        Meeting with existing Insight4GRC clients to better understand how they are using the software so that we can help them make more of its capabilities, this may include attendance at individual client meetings or user forums.

-        Running GRC workshops with clients to either extract information or help them formulate a solution for themselves, either working with Insight4GRC team or wider risk assurance colleagues.

-        Insight4GRC implementation – system configuration, user training etc.

-        Contributing to Insight4GRC product development

-        Existing Insight4GRC client support to assist them with a difficulty or help roll out a new feature in the software.

The Insight4GRC team would in all cases look to support you in developing your skills so that you are able to fully contribute to the success of the team.

Entry requirements

At RSM, we don't just look for good exam results. We think passion, personality and originality are just as important.

You will need:
96 UCAS (new tariff) across 3 A-levels or 4 Highers/Advanced Highers;
A predicted/obtained honours degree.

UCAS changed their points system so under the old tariff it would be 280/240 points respectively.

We require the successful candidate to have a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle by the time they come to the end of their 3 month probation with RSM.
