BLM values the importance of providing you with more than just legal technical knowledge, it’s about equipping you with the skills to become a dynamic legal professional.
Our two-year trainee solicitor programme has been designed to maximise your potential. You will complete four six-month seats, giving you exposure to a variety of teams across the business and the experiences needed to develop the skills you will need as a qualified solicitor within insurance law.
You may also have the opportunity to spend time on secondment with one of our customers or with the Association of British Insurers. Throughout your programme you will work with our partners and associates on a variety of cases from low to complex, high-value claims, from initial investigation through to trial. You will have all of the support that you need from your assigned supervisor and the graduate team.
Partners encourage early responsibility and expect trainees to manage workloads autonomously and as part of a team. We will provide a supportive and friendly working environment and you can expect clear opportunities for career progression and a broad scope of challenging and interesting work.
We recruit a small number of high-quality trainees each year to ensure that we can provide the best possible training and development opportunities – you can be a big fish in a big pond.
As trainees are the partners of the future, we believe that your development is essential for the firm’s organic growth. BLM supports its trainees and future joiners through the LPC, Scottish Diploma in Legal Practice and PSC, working with external providers to offer you the best possible training.
Once you have started we will pair you with a training supervisor who will be responsible for your day-to-day supervision, coaching and mentoring. We actively encourage career development so that you can feel fully prepared making the transition for trainee to newly qualified solicitor.
At BLM we recruit to retain. Many of our current partners trained at BLM and this is something that we are very proud of. As you approach the end of your training contract, our training principal will discuss your qualification preferences with you.
BLM are looking for trainees to join our; Birmingham, Leeds, Liverpool, London, Manchester, Southampton, Edinburgh & Glasgow offices.
