About the role:
We have a new exciting opportunity to work as an Apprentice Carpenter for Balfour Beatty Living Places. Living Places delivers Herefordshire Councils Facilities Maintenance Contract, responsible for delivering a wide wide range of services including soft and hard facilities maintenance to Herefordshire Council properties. This role with give you the opportunity to work for a market leading company, whilst gaining valuable skills and experience to ensure you develop to your full potential throughout the apprenticeship.
What the apprenticeship will offer:
During the two year apprenticeship you would work towards achieving a Level 2 in Carpentry.
What you'll be doing
Your responsibilities as an Apprentice Carpenter:
A member of the Facilities Maintenance Operations team delivering maintenance and repairs to the clients property portfolio. The work is varied and will include installation, repair and maintenance of doors, windows, glazing, roofing, rainwater good, fencing, flooring, partitions, office refurbishments and alterations and other general building works. You will be working in a broad range of buildings and environments including industrial, commercial, agricultural, retail and civic buildings. The work will involve working indoors and outdoors, working at height and occasional out of hours working where required
- Undertake maintenance and improvement work as required including reactive maintenance, office refurbishment and general building works.
- Complete works in accordance with specifications and in compliance with the relevant Legislation and industry best practice.
- Complete and sign off worksheets, time sheets, vehicle inspection forms, warning notices and any other forms as required by the Supervisor.
- Work to operational procedures, safe working practices and Health and Safety procedures as required.
- Responsible for the care and condition of all vehicles, plant tools and equipment issued to or used by the post holder.
Provide general support and assistance to the Facilities Management team
