Human Resources Development Graduate Scheme

ENGIE is the largest energy and services company in the UK, join our Human Resources team to drive changes and enable us to continue to thrive as an innovative and competitive business. You will have the chance to make an immediate impact and be supported by your dedicated and driven ENGIE colleagues.

ENGIE’s Talent Team is responsible for growing and developing our high potential employees.  It works from a central point to develop a range of programmes designed to build the leaders of ENGIE’s future. The team manages our Early Careers schemes, recruiting and developing a central graduate scheme, and overseeing the company’s apprenticeship roles across the UK. The team also deliver several leadership programmes for existing staff, arrange mentoring and additional learning opportunities, develop career pathways and review succession plans.

You will begin your graduate scheme with a 12-month placement in the Early Careers Talent Team in Canary Wharf, before being able to choose either two additional 6-month placements, or a final 12-month placement in the wider HR business across the UK.

Whichever path you choose, the experiences you will have throughout the programme will make you a stronger leader in the future.

Starting in September 2020, our graduate programme begins with an exciting induction week.  During the rest of your scheme, you will work across our business in a variety of placements, combining operational and functional roles within your chosen area.  AS ENGIE is such a large and diverse company, your placements could be based anywhere in the UK, so you must be willing to relocate within the UK. 

Professional Development

All of our graduates work towards the CMI Level 3 Diploma in First Line Management.  The qualification is developed for junior managers, supervisors and first line managers who have, or will have, operational responsibility and to develop their existing management skills and knowledge. 

You will be dealing with management issues from day one, learning from those around you and developing into a high-quality manager, working as part of a management team that leads over 17,000 colleagues in the UK.

Qualifications or Required Experience:

Essential 

  • A genuine interest in our industry and your focus area, and a passion for delivering real change in the communities we serve
  • A flexible approach to work (you will be required to relocate across the duration of your scheme)
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to lead, motivate and inspire others at all levels
  • A team focus with the ability to interact with a wide variety of people at all levels
  • A driven, self-motivated attitude, with the ability to work on your own initiative
  • Well-developed emotional intelligence and self-awareness

Desirable

  • Previous leadership experience (either through work or through extra-curricular activities)
  • Previous work experience, ideally within a relevant field 
  • Previous customer services experience 
  • A full UK driving licence
