Dstl is responsible for designing, developing and applying the very latest in science and technology for the benefit of UK defence and security, across government. In our work, we partner with other brilliant people – collaborating with everyone from small companies and world-class universities, to large defence organisations and other nations. Together, we develop battle-winning technologies, based on deep and widespread research.
During your apprenticeship, you’ll support colleagues from the Home Office and MoD, right through to the National Crime Agency and the Army. As part of our supportive team within the Counter terrorism and Security Division, you’ll be encouraged to take ownership of your development, and realise your full potential, through Independent Learning. You’ll enjoy a mix of academic and hands-on practical learning across on your chosen pathway – either Technical Professional, Safety Professional, Breakdown and Disposal Professional or Test and Evaluation Professional. Wherever you end up, you’ll learn all there is to know about working in a dynamic team of specialists to deliver scientific, analytical and engineering solutions.
This’ll be supported by an A Level in a Maths, Science or Engineering subject and the desire to further your development - both personally and professionally.
We’re looking for someone with a personal interest, aptitude and enthusiasm for engineering, science and problem solving, together with a curious mind and the desire to make the impossible, possible. Forward-thinking and passionate, you’ll think creatively and be keen to learn new concepts. You’ll also be a great team player who’s able to communicate and work with people at all levels.
