About the role

Balfour Beatty is the UK's largest construction and infrastructure business. We design and build Low Voltage electrical switchboards and control cubicles along with system accessories such as termination boxes, distribution boards and electrical components for the Rail and Nuclear sectors as well as Commercial and Aviation.
These positions will mainly be focused in our Rail sector working on regional infrastructure projects. Each year we seek the best apprentices to come and join our ever-changing business.
What you'll be doing
As an Advanced Apprentice in Electrical Engineering, you would work within a team in our manufacturing facility to fabricate low voltage switchgear including testing of low voltage electrical equipment in substations, switch rooms and buildings and it may include site work on electrical equipment in power transmission and distribution.
What the apprenticeship will offer:
During the four year Advanced Apprenticeship you would complete the full framework on day or block release. After completing the Advanced Apprenticeship you would be given full support to develop into a qualified Electrician or may have the option to be supported towards a management role via a degree and professional status.
Who we're looking for
- 4 GCSEs at Grade C or above including Maths and English or a Level 2 BTEC in Construction
- Good communication skills
- Good team working skills
- Have the ambition and motivation to work within the engineering and construction industry
