Starting in September 2018, all of our graduate schemes begin with a one week induction at the start of your first placement. During the rest of your scheme, you will work across our business in a variety of placements, combining operational and functional roles within your chosen area. You will need to be fully mobile as the placements could be based anywhere within the UK.

ENGIE are recruiting for Graduates to be based throughout the UK. This is a fixed term (2 years) full time role working 37.5 hours per week, but we fully anticipate all graduates will remain with us in permanent roles on completion of their scheme. On offer is a competitive salary £26,000 per annum (increasing to £28,000 in the second year) and company benefits package.

Scheme Overview

Our Services teams deliver an incredibly wide range of services a wide a range of clients all over the country. Over four placements you could be supporting our continued legacy commitments at the Olympic Park or helping to ensure continued energy production at one the UK’s nuclear power stations. You could be a part of the largest TFM contract in the UK where we work in partnership with the Department of Work and Pensions, supporting some of the UK’s largest hospitals, or helping to mobilise our newest contract wins. A life in Services is never dull and as a trainee on the Operational Leadership Scheme you will gain experience of what it takes to manage large, diverse teams in a fun and rewarding industry. 

 You will have a passion for putting the customer first, working in teams, doing a great job and constantly looking to improve and innovate. Over four rotations that will span all sectors within Services you will gain an unrivalled understanding of how we support our customers. Our operational leaders are the heart and soul of our business, delivering innovative solutions to our communities and customers; by people, for people. 

Technical and Engineering Graduates: Applicants who have a technical or engineering degree but with a passion for leadership will also have the opportunity to start their journey towards IET or IMechE accreditation, with the potential to obtain IEng or CEng registration with the Engineering Council. In 2018 we are starting the journey towards full accreditation and we would love you to help us get there. You will follow a similar journey as non-technical graduates but we will ensure that your placements are aligned to the UK SPEC, balancing the best in technical and leadership experiences.

Technical Graduates will start their 4 year journey on a Professional Development Scheme, with the ultimate aim of professional registration.

This scheme consists of four, 6-month placements over a two year programme.

Over the course of the programme, you could gain exposure to:

  • Account management

  • People management

  • Commercial and financial understanding

  • Technical appreciation

  • Health, Safety, Environment and Quality delivery

  • ENGIE vision and purpose

  • Subcontractor management

  • Asset management

Qualifications or Required Experience

  • A Bachelor’s Degree (we may consider other relevant backgrounds) 

  • A genuine interest in our industry and your chosen area, and a passion for delivering real change in the communities we serve

  • A flexible approach to work (you will be required to relocate across the duration of your scheme)

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to lead, motivate and inspire others at all levels

  • A team focus with the ability to interact with a wide variety of people at all levels

  • A driven, self-motivated attitude, with the ability to work on your own initiative

  • Well-developed emotional intelligence and self-awareness


  • Previous leadership experience (either through work or through extra-curricular activities)

  • Previous work experience, ideally within a relevant field 

  • Previous customer services experience

  • A full UK driving licence
