Joining our Assembly Department

Technical Training within our Manufacturing function is the ideal starting point for anyone wanting to become a multi-skilled technician, with training that will take you through the many areas of vehicle manufacturing. To make the most of being a technical apprentice, you’ll need to be someone with plenty of questions about how things work and have the confidence to seek out the answers.

A Rolls-Royce Apprenticeship offers multiple career choices and enables you to make the most of your abilities.

Your Career Development:

As a Rolls-Royce Technical Apprentice you will be attending college on a part-time basis and you will also follow a placement plan spending time within various areas of Assembly.

The two year programme is designed to enable you to experience different aspects of engineering and production technology including: hand-skills, machining, fluid power, electronics, welding, robotics, control systems and many more. 

With hard work and commitment, you will develop specialist technical knowledge supported by the relevant qualifications in Engineering. Subject to your performance you may then have the opportunity to extend your apprenticeship a further two years and continue your studies onto a Higher National Certificate in Engineering.

You will learn the skills to start a successful career within a Manufacturing function with the initial focus on roles within the Assembly area.

Qualifications required for Apprenticeship:

A minimum of 5 GCSE’s (or equivalent) at grade 4 or C (or above), including Maths and English.

A technology related subject or a BTEC level 3 (60 credits plus) or equivalent in a relevant Engineering or Technology discipline would be advantageous but is not essential.

Working Hours:

40 hour working week. Apprentice start and finish times at Goodwood are 06:00 – 14:30 but may vary slightly according to work based placements. College times varying according to the timetable.

The Assessment Centres will be taking place on either Wednesday 27th February 2019 or during the week commencing Monday 29th April 2019.

As part of your application you will need to upload a copy of your most recent school report* and a CV. If you don’t have a school report then please upload a CV and an employer reference. If you don’t have an employer reference then please upload a CV and a personal statement. 

*If you are currently studying you must upload a school/college report. Failure to attach the above will mean we will be unable to progress with your application.

• Good problem solving and manual skills
• Evidence of strong organisation and planning skills
• An eye for detail
• Team spirited and self-motivated, you’re someone who can focus on the job at hand even when the pressure is on
• You will need to have good communication skills with the ability to think logically and to work independently or as part of a team
