Due to our continued growth, we're now recruiting for Training Contracts for 2019 as well as 2020.
We like our trainees to stand out from the crowd. We look for excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective working relationships both internally and externally. We would also like you to have a genuine interest in the future plans and direction of Foot Anstey.
It goes without saying that all of our trainees have an exceptional academic background with a 2:1 degree or above in either Law or non-law. On top of this, we will do everything we can to support your GDL/ LPC studies. We take into account your potential areas of law interest as well as your previous work experience, both legal and non-legal, and positions of responsibility, to ensure we get the full picture of you and your capabilities.
Our training programme is designed to help you reach your full potential.
As one of our trainees, you will undertake six seats of four months across two years. Regular, open communication with your supervisors comes as standard. You will get lots of exposure to different situations and to people within the firm who will help you to develop your legal and commercial expertise, in an environment that is friendly and supportive.
When you start, we will offer you a detailed induction and on-boarding programme over your first three months and assign you a buddy from the existing Trainee/NQ population. Our on-going training sessions help prepare you to become a fully qualified solicitor, throughout your two-year training contract. You may also have the opportunity for a secondment with one of our clients as part of your training.
Completing your PSC via the University of Law, there is a tailored training programme in place for trainees incorporating PSC modules and additional trainee-focused training. We put an emphasis on supported personal and professional development throughout your training contract and into your NQ period.
To apply to be considered for a trainee place with the firm, please submit your application online via our online application by 1st June 2016 for our Summer Assessment days.
We shortlist and select trainee applicants after each closing date.
If you are invited to an assessment day typically, we will ask you to prepare a group presentation in advance, plus there will be a written exercise and panel interview on the day. You will also get the opportunity to find out more about the firm and what it is like to work here by touring the office and meeting existing trainees.
After your assessment day, we will be in contact with you to talk about training contract offers.
