Bright Futures Programme
Our Bright Futures programme is a nine month programme which offers first-year law students and penultimate-year non-law students the opportunity to gain an insight into life at an international law firm. It is aimed at candidates who are looking for their first taste of life in a large commercial law firm. This year, our Bright Futures Programme runs between 22nd March – 26th March 2021.
This nine-month programme is aimed at people from lower socioeconomic status groups who've not yet had an opportunity to gain commercial work experience. Candidates must meet at least one of the following criteria: You should have been eligible for free school meals between the ages of 11-16, have grown up in a household where no parent/guardian had attended university, or have experience of another form of social disadvantage. And just to let you know, we will also use RARE – a contextual recruitment system that’s been built with fairness and equality front of mind.
This is an opportunity to spend a week in one of our world-renowned departments and to shadow one of our experienced lawyers. You’ll be able to get experience one of our complex legal transactions, develop an understanding of our core industry sectors and learn how we help our clients to achieve their commercial objectives.
You’ll need to make your application online between 1st October and 3rd January 2021. We’ll ask you to fill in your personal details, tell us about any previous work experience and answer a number of questions about why you’d like to join our firm, and this programme in particular. We’ll also want to know about your commercial awareness.
