Commercial Development Graduate Scheme

Our commercial placements on our graduate leadership scheme will develop you into our future commercial managers in our multiple divisions. The opportunities at ENGIE are vast; your placements will cover many aspects of commercial to develop your business career and provide you with the opportunity to experience different areas of our business. You could be making an immediate contribution supporting our next successful £200m energy and services tender, providing critical contractual support to our asset and operational teams, or working with our extensive supply chain to ensure we and they remain focussed on our diversity and sustainability commitments.

This structured programme will span many sectors within our divisions, providing an unrivalled commercial awareness and an in-depth understanding of how ENGIE operate. There will also be the opportunity to experience our facilities services delivery, to develop your understanding of how we are driving change in the market place to integrate the delivery of energy and services. 

You will be supported to become a future Business Development Manager, Assistant Commercial Manager or our next Sustainability Manager. Whichever path you choose, the experiences you will have throughout the programme will make you a stronger leader in the future.

Starting in September 2020, our graduate programme begins with an exciting induction week. The two-year programme encompasses 4 x 6-month placements in which you will work in a variety of placements with real responsibility to combine operational and functional roles with an energy focus.  AS ENGIE is such a large and diverse company, your placements could be based anywhere in the UK, so you must be willing to relocate within the UK.

Professional Development

All of our graduates work towards the CMI Level 3 Diploma in First Line Management.  The qualification is developed for junior managers, supervisors and first line managers who have, or will have, operational responsibility and to develop their existing management skills and knowledge. 

You will be dealing with management issues from day one, learning from those around you and developing into a high-quality manager, working as part of a management team that leads over 17,000 colleagues in the UK.

Qualifications or Required Experience:

  • Previous leadership experience (either through work or through extra-curricular activities)
  • Previous work experience, ideally within a relevant field 
  • Previous customer services experience 
  • A full UK driving licence

  • Assessment centres will be held on December 2019. Please note that despite the different streams, we will assess all candidates at the same time using the same materials to find the generation of leaders to join our graduate programme.
