PwC trainees learn in a stimulating, multifaceted environment and are taught by exceptional people. Trainees will quickly gain practical, hands-on experience and lateral thinking skills as part of teams, generating creative ways to tackle complex problems. The practice groups that a trainee could work in include banking, commercial & regulatory disputes, corporate, cyber security, employment, pensions, finance, IP/IT & public sector, real estate, and tax disputes, and there may also be an opportunity to complete a seat in Dubai.
Internships & Placements
PwC’s three-week paid Summer Vacation Scheme is a great way to find out how the company works and see for yourself the ways in which they’re truly unique in the legal marketplace, gaining valuable legal work experience during the course. On top of that, applicants get a highly competitive wage while they’re working. The scheme is PwC’s principal route towards securing a place on their training contract.
PwC do not currently have an apprenticeship programme.

Salary & Benefits
You will be pleased to hear that PwC offer a good starting salary in line with the stature of the establishment. As a trainee you will enjoy 25 days of standard holiday per year as well as range of other benefits from private medical cover to graduate loans.
If we accept you for a legal training contract, you'll get a scholarship award to help with the costs of the Graduate Diploma in Law Course and the Legal Practice Course. If successful, we’ll pay your course and examination fees, and contribute substantially towards your living expenses. We make the payments in three equal instalments.
For the 2016/2017 academic year we’ll pay the following:
- Graduate Diploma of Law (GDL) – £7,000 plus fees
- Legal Practice Course (LPC) – £7,000 plus fees
We offer all our people an impressive reward package, including a competitive salary. The starting salary for Legal trainees was £39,000.
What you need to bring us:
We generally recruit two years in advance for trainee solicitors and therefore focus on penultimate year law students and final year non-law students. We can sometimes be flexible however and occasionally make offers commencing sooner than this. You’ll need to be on track for a 2:1 or above and have a UCAS tariff of at least 320 (or equivalent) with a keen interest in business law.
Please note PwC Legal principally recruits Trainees through our Summer Vacation Schemes. The next available scheme is the Summer Vacation 2017. All successful applicants from the 2017 scheme will be offered a Training Contract to join in 2019 or more usually 2020.
