Lasting 18 months, the UK & Ireland Graduate Leadership Programme is made up of four assignments across key areas of TUI UK & Ireland, such as Distribution, Airline, Commercial or Head Office. TUI Travel PLC is all about “making travel experiences special” so graduates are encouraged to spend time working alongside their customer-facing teams. Another unique feature of the graduate programme is the overseas placement that all graduates undertake. This consists of four to six weeks spent working abroad with the overseas resort teams.
Emphasis is also on training during the scheme with an initial one-week induction followed by training courses, e-learning, and workshops. There are also quarterly training sessions and each graduate will have a mentor and a personal development plan.
If you’ve got a flair for numbers, you might want to check out TUI UK & Ireland’s Finance Graduate Leadership Programme. On this three year rotational programme, you’ll get to progress through a number of roles across their finance teams as you work towards a CIMA qualification. By the end of the programme, you will have a solid foundation in financial accounting, reporting and analysis.
Alternatively, the IT graduate programme might be more to your liking. It consists of a two year development programme with TUI UK & Ireland’s IT department. A mixture of on-the-job learning, workshops, formal coaching and classroom based learning will give you a solid foundation in IT management, whilst a placement overseas and in one of the key business areas will broaden your knowledge of TUI Travel and sharpen your business and commercial acumen.

Internships & Placements
TUI UK & Ireland have received many plaudits for their student placement schemes and it’s not hard to see why. Placement students experience life at TUI UK & Ireland in one of four departments: Product, Yield, Purchasing and Cruise. Placements last for 12 months, and as well as working in a department, students get involved with workshops, social events and undertake an induction period.

TUI UK & I commercial apprenticeship - Higher Apprenticeship in Business & Professional Administration - Level 4
This is a two year programme where one year will be spent in our product department and the other year will be spent within our trading teams. There are opportunities for secondments throughout the apprenticeship to gather further commercial knowledge outside of these departments. There are many opportunities for development from team projects and companywide training schemes to Sustainability and employee wellbeing.

Salary & Benefits
If you land a place on the TUI UK Graduate Leadership Programme, you’ll be privy to a starting salary of £26,000 and flexible benefits. Aside from all the usual stuff like a pension scheme and life assurance, you’ll get travel benefits including late flights and heavily discounted hotel prices, friends and family discounts and other travel offers, and generous holiday concessions and discounts.
Graduates on the TUI UK Graduate Leadership Programme will be mainly based at the £10 million Luton HQ, Wigmore House, which is replete with a subsidised restaurant and cafés and free bus to (and from) town and the train station.
For their UK graduate scheme, TUI UK & Ireland is looking for a minimum of a 2:1 degree in any subject and ask for at least 300 UCAS points (from 3 A-Levels excluding General Studies).
As well as the academic requirements, candidates also need at least 12 months part-time or full-time work experience, some of which must involve dealing with customers.
TUI UK & Ireland are looking for graduates with an innovative and entrepreneurial mind-set, strong leadership potential, and who are passionate about providing outstanding customer service. A good sense of commercial awareness is crucial and great communication and interpersonal skills should be a given.
Numerate and analytical skills are essential, as well as the ability to work well in a team. You should thrive in a fast-paced environment and have an adaptable, flexible and professional approach. A second language would be ideal, but not critical. It goes without saying that you should have a passion for travel, boundless enthusiasm and an adventurous spirit.
