After recently merging with Tyco, we are now the world leader in building technologies and energy storage. An apprenticeship with us will see you building new skills, while applying your knowledge to real-world live projects. There will be plenty of opportunities to explore your potential and you’ll enjoy full support from your line manager and a mentor. The programme will be part of our new Building Technologies and Solutions business. We are offering a full-time permanent Advanced Level 3 Apprenticeship Programme for talented people. This is a genuine alternative to university for those who have a passion for engineering and who want to launch their career with Johnson Controls. The apprenticeship will combine on-the-job work experience, with time at college to achieve a BTEC Diploma in either Electrical or Mechanical Engineering. You will also receive training and development within the Johnson Controls learning framework, along with a national induction and performance evaluation. We will have approximately 30 apprenticeship roles available throughout the UK. We have a number of different roles available across the following locations Aberdeen, Birmingham, Bristol, Glasgow, Maidstone, Manchester, Sunbury, Romford: Apprentice Electrical/Mechanical Installation Engineer: This apprenticeship will provide a foundation from which to progress on several career paths as either an Electrical or Mechanical Installation & Service Engineer. During this apprenticeship you will learn electrical engineering or mechanical engineering skills suitable for installing, maintaining and repairing state-of-the-art fire and security, prevention and suppression systems. Apprentice Mechanical/Electrical Design Engineers: This apprenticeship is a highly skilled technical role that requires you to produce designs for a wide range of installations to customer specification both commercial/industrial and residential. During the apprenticeship you will learn to produce drawings and designs using Computer Aided Design (CAD), AutoCAD and additional design and prototyping software programmes. Apprentice Electro/Mechanical Engineer: This apprenticeship is a technical role that will require you to support the manufacturing operation by maximizing production time, understanding the importance of and completing safety checks, planned and preventative maintenance tasks and project work. During the apprenticeship, you will be taught how to apply initiative to consistently and proactively track and improve equipment safety and effectiveness.

Salary & Benefits
This is a full time permanent role, with a starting salary of £8,220 per annum, with salary increases every 6 months based on performance. You will also receive 25 days annual leave and a pension plan.
- Four GCSEs (or equivalent) at Grade C minimum in Maths, English, Science and IT/CDT (or equivalent)
- Enthusiasm to learn and an interest in problem solving

- Ability to work both independently and as a team player

- Although no engineering experience is required, candidates must show an interest in engineering and working in the area of fire & security.
