Tina, you don't have to specialise in engineering right from first year. You can start as general engineer and move to other fields. Industrial wise, I would say Cranfield, Stratchlyde, Imperial, Aston, Brunel, RGU (Scotland) are some of the big names industrially.
Just a note of advice, if you are paying £9000 fees, you should look into a university that has a sandwich pattern course. That way you can do a placement year after second year, which improves your chances of being better off later. Are you looking for masters or bachelors ? Goodluck. -Faiz.
