hi, from what I read I think they call people to an interview on a rolling basis so I guess the earlier you apply the better. But at least in theory they should look at your application if it's within the deadline anyway.

No, many do accept applications from third years and graduates, non-law students etc, although the majority are aimed at penultimate year law students and final year non-law students.
