Does anyone know how to get a foot in the door? Shall I just send off speculative emails and letters or is there an "official" route into Marshalling with a judge?

There isn't an official route to get involved and is probably the trickiest type of legal work experience to get, but at the same time there is probably less competition for places. I suggest you write letter to them, judges are usually more old school - they will almost all be over 50...

You should contact your County court or Crown court, by searching HMCS for the telephone number and speak with the listing officer. Before calling the court make sure you have your CV and a covering letter ready.

Marshalling is shadowing a judge, its not all that common so it looks good on cvs
