As the name suggests, Yorkshire Water is the company tasked with the responsibility of water distribution and related activities for the whole of Yorkshire. On a daily basis, Yorkshire Water handles the collection, treatment and supply of 1.24 billion litres of water, in addition to treating and recycling about a billion litres of waste water at the same time!

Over and above these basic activities, the company is involved in creating and maintaining water reservoirs, pipe work through which water is supplied or routed to sewage treatment plants, providing education and resources on water conservation, usage and reducing water bills, as also providing numerous holiday and tourist attractions such as national parks, fishing spots, beaches across the coast and facilities for hikes, riding and cycling.

The company operates out of ten locations across Yorkshire and has been repeatedly nominated for various awards, including ‘Utility of the Year’, which it has won three times consecutively.
