Core services include advisory, software, H.R. and BPO services for customers across private and public sectors. Xafinity’s history can be traced back to 1836, when HM Paymaster was established.
The present-day entity—the Xafinity Group—is a collection of five specialist companies, including Xafinity Consulting, Xafinity Claybrook, Xafinity Skillbase, Xafinity Paymaster and HR Trustees.
Xafinity employs more than 1,400 people, working out of offices in Crawley (HQ), Bath, Belfast, Leeds, London, Cardiff, Manchester, Stafford, Reading, Stirling, Fleetwood, Worcester and Waterlooville.
Overall, the Group manages funds to the extent of two trillion pounds each year, advising and servicing over two million customers and is the approved software provider to the UK Principal Civil Service Pension Scheme (PCSPS).
Graduates are recruited as Actuarial Assistants in Xafinity Consulting, the advisory and business consulting division of the Xafinity Group. The graduate scheme is a combination of work placements, study and preparation for obtaining actuarial qualifications and a structured programme of internal training covering general, business and technical skills across the different areas of business.
Trainees are assigned work in teams consisting of qualified and part-qualified actuaries working on ongoing projects at the Leeds or Reading office. Client interaction and allocation of responsibilities begin early in the programme and trainees may also spend time working on-site at clients’ offices as actuarial placement specialists.
Each trainee is paired with a qualified actuary who mentors and coaches the trainee through the process of obtaining relevant professional qualifications and day-to-day work activities. Formal in-house training programmes cover important aspects of an actuary’s role within the pensions and employee benefits domain, including changes in legislation and regulations, market trends and developments and soft skills’ training.
