Requirements
Reed Smith looks for candidates with a strong academic background. The minimum requirement is a 2:1 at undergraduate level (achieved or predicted) in any subject.
Candidates should demonstrate research, analysis, communication, teamwork, leadership and client relationship skills.
All future Reed Smith trainees are required to complete their LPC and GDL (if applicable) at BPP Law School in Holborn, London. As part of the LPC, students should complete the Private Acquisitions elective, and two more electives from the following three subjects: Equity Finance, Debt Finance and Advanced Commercial Litigation.
The firm has developed a new version of the LPC that fully integrates legal and business learning and leads to a unique Master’s qualification, the MA (LPC with Business). This bespoke programme is the first of its kind and allows future trainees of the firm to study commercial and legal aspects in parallel, and not separately, so the course is completed before you start the training contract.
