Barratt Developments Plc is among UK’s largest house building companies with a workforce of over 4,000 employees and 25 divisions across the UK. Primarily focused on residential building and development, Barratt Developments is well-known for its national brands—Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes—apart from a regional housing brand—Ward Homes—in Kent and Southeast England.

The company also has a commercial property development business—Wilson Bowden Developments—specialising in industrial, leisure, mixed-use, office and retail projects.

Barratt was established in 1958 in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, listed on the LSE in 1968 and embarked upon expanding its business across the UK through organic growth and acquisitions from 1972 onwards. Recent projects delivered by the company include the St Andrews landmark regeneration project in Bromley-by-Bow and Halstead Place School in Kent.
